SEMINAR ON “DIGITAL TOPOGRAPHIC MAP FOR DIGITAL BANGLADESH”

 

 

A daylong seminar on "Digital Topographic Map For Digital Bangladesh” will be held on 15 March 2012 at 1000 a.m. at Ruposhi Bangla Hotel organized jointly by Survey of Bangladesh and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The seminar would focus on first product of Improvement of Digital Mapping System of Survey of Bangladesh (IDMS) project including 1: 25,000 scale digital topographic map, Ortho-photo, Digital Elevation Model (DEM), GIS basic data etc. and explain the schedule of preparation of 1: 25,000 and 1: 5,000 scale digital map so that stakeholders are aware of the availability of the valuable products.

Architect Yeafesh Osman, Honorable State Minister is expected to grace the seminar as the Chief Guest and His Excellency Mr. Shiro Sadoshima, Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh as Special Guest.

BD – INDIA (MIZORAM) BORDER

 

 

1. Boundary Conference: 38th Conference between Surveyor General of Bangladesh and the Director, land Revenue & Settlement ( Ex-Officio), Mizoram, India held at Dhaka on 23rd and 24th August 2009.
Objective:
a. Finalization of Field Work (Field Season 2009-2010).
b. Reconnaissance of Boundary Reference Pillars.
c. Determination of Reference Pillars Co-ordinates.
d. Construction and Observation of Reference Pillars
e. Joint Field Inspection by Higher Authority.
f. Maintenance of Boundary Main/Reference and Subsidiary Pillars.

 

2. Boundary Conference: 39th Conference between the Director, land Revenue & Settlement ( Ex-Officio), Mizoram (India) and Surveyor General of Bangladesh held at Kolkata India on 19th and 20th July 2011.
Objective:
a. Finalization of Field Work (Field Season 2011-2012).
b. Determination of Reference Pillars Co-ordinates.
c. Construction and Observation of Reference Pillars
d. Joint Field Inspection by Higher Authority.
e. Maintenance of Boundary Main/Reference and Subsidiary Pillars.

3. Events: Survey/Construction and Observation of Reference Pillars (Field Season 2008-09 and 2009-10).
Task:
a. Survey of Bangladesh and Survey of India jointly carried out the Task.
b. 62 New Reference Pillars were constructed along the stretch of MP-2320 to MP-2340 at Bangladesh – India (Mizoram) border.

BD – MYANMAR BORDER

 

 

1. Joint Boundary Meeting: Joint Boundary Meeting between Myanmar and Bangladesh on Signing of the Naaf River Charts (Old Sheet I, II and III), Finalization of the Field Program, Joint Inspection, Erection, Repair, Construction / Reconstruction of Additional Boundary Pillars along the Land Section held at Yangon on 14 – 16 July 2010.
Objective:
a. Signing of Naaf River Charts (Old Sheet I, II and III).
b. Finalization of Field Program (Field Season 20010-2011).
c. Erection, Repair, Construction / Reconstruction of Additional Boundary Pillars along the Land Section.
d. Joint Field Inspection.

2. Joint Boundary Meeting: Joint Boundary Meeting between Bangladesh and Myanmar delegation on Field Survey, Construction / Reconstruction, Repair and Erection of Boundary Pillars / Additional Boundary Pillars along the Land Section of the Bangladesh – Myanmar International Boundary held at Dhaka on 12 – 14 September 2011.
Objective:
a. Plotting and Signing of Boundary Strip Maps showing new 18 Co-ordinates (Sheet No. 1 & 2).
b. Finalization of Field Program (Field Season 20011-2012).
c. Survey, Observation and Erection, Repair, Construction / Reconstruction of Additional Boundary Pillars along the Land Section.
d. Joint Field Inspection.

3. Events: Survey/ Construction and Observation of Additional Boundary Pillars (Field Season 20010-11).
Task:
a. Survey of Bangladesh and Myanmar Survey Department Survey jointly carried out the Task at the Bangladesh – Myanmar along the.
b. 18 Additional Boundary Pillars were constructed along the Land Section.
c. 2 Boundary Pillars ( BP 42 and BP 49 ) were reconstructed.
